Joe Lacario's Afla Romeo is shown here in a photo that was part of a Oklahoma race newspaper photo article done by my husband in about 1974 which showed the various license tags that racers had on their cars. Lacario, who is pictured elsewhere in the gallery, was from Houston and raced until way into being a "senior citizen".
The Ponca City Grand Prix often had a Friday evening tech inspection session downtown on main street in front of the Post Office. This picture shows my brother-in-law Jim's car with some Ponca residents taking a look in about 1975 or 76. Jim was just out of high school when he started racing this car which was previously owned by my husband. Jim still has it. The car was Dodge/Chrysler/MoPar Maxi Blue, a color like my Porsche's Dodge Lime Lite Green, which were a series of bright "hip" colors offered in the early 70s on the 'Cuda.
