"Now, for something completely different."

We're going to be looking at photos of some marques we have not see in a while and, hopefully, this will satisfy some of you guys out there who want to see a wide variety of cars.

I've been receiving visitors who are "keeping the faith" by restoring some of the cars shown on these pages. John Rische is working on the Stafford's orange Corvette that is on the grid/results sheet of the Mexico 1000 shown in another area of the gallery. And we've heard from Jeff Barley of England who is restoring a ex-Trans Am Camero. Thanks for coming and thanks for signing my guest book.

Two MGBs battle at Daytona International Speedway '65

Daytona MGB Battle: two MGBs are shown racing in the infield of Daytona International Speedway in 1965 at the SCCA Road Race of Champions. The cars appear to be numbers 42 and 22 which would mean that they both finished 2nd in their respective Divisions. Know who they are? Nice spectator cars which include a Bug Eye and a 1958 Chevy Impala.

Volkswagen Beetle at Dallas International Speedway 1971

VW Beetle at Dallas: this Beetle was photographed in the pits at Dallas International Motor Speedway circa 1971. The race track was actually a good distance north of Dallas on I-35 East, about half-way between Dallas and Denton. Do you know the driver? Not many VWs raced in these parts, so that's why the photo.

So You Think You're Smart? A classic mid 1960s grid with a Shelby GT350, Corvette Coupe and an Austin Mini Cooper. Okay, here's a quiz for you: Where was this photo taken and approximately when? Email us your answer. A mystery prize will be given, determined either by the right answer or a drawing of all those who give me the right answer by April 30th, 2001.
