"Totally 60s. What a trip!" This month features only photos from the 1960s. My future husband was getting into racing and would go to Vietnam in 1969 while I hadn't even bought my first car yet and was, after high school, working at USAA, taking the bus most everywhere, and having a great time.

Here's John driving his first love, his TR-4 which he traded his street car for. It was originally purchased from the "factory" as a race car, complete with trailer. John drove the car in this configuration into a hard winter...rain, snow, and sub freezing temps. Most everyone at the University of Tulsa thought he was just plain nuts. The photo is at an autocross at John Zink's ranch north of Tulsa near Skiatook, Oklahoma, probably in 1964. Zink sponsored Indy cars in the 50s and 60s. (Photo by Mike of the Tulsa World)

Lots of Sprites...and then some others, including a Lotus 7 and a Renault, are shown at an SCCA Driver's School at Okmulgee, Oklahoma, in 1964 or 65. It must have been early Spring or Fall because John says it was quite chilly.
