The Original Overseas Motors Purple People Eater has come back to Texas after being on the east coast for several years. The new owner, Robert Hoemke of northwest Texas, brought the car to its first Texas race in a long time at the last CVAR event of 2003 at Texas World Speedway. The car was really, really fast.

 

 

The Purple People Eater is shown on the grid at Texas World Speedway in the last CVAR race of the season.  The new owner owns a couple of fast formula cars and has been racing them for some time, however, he said he was really enjoying the Mini even though it was taking some getting used to.

 

 

The Clean Race Dash of the Purple People Eater is a great example of form and function, as well as an inexpensive solution to adding the needed race guages. Note the car still has the original Mini center guage cluster..and also has its carpets, too.
